Rental Rules & Safety Guidelines
By renting and operating one of our electric scooters, you agree to the rules and guidelines below. Ride responsibly.
Riding Rules
- Ride only in permitted areas (roads, pavements, promenade)
- Ride in the direction of traffic and maintain a safe speed
- Keep both hands on the handlebars at all times
- Give right of way to pedestrians
- One rider per scooter — no passengers
- Follow all traffic laws and local by-laws
Rider Requirements
- Must be 14 years or older
- Valid ID or Passport required
- Security deposit / card hold may be required
- Must be physically capable of safe operation
- Proper footwear recommended (closed-toe shoes)
- Helmet use strongly encouraged for safety
Prohibited
- No alcohol or drug use while riding
- No stunt riding or reckless behaviour
- No riding on sand, water or off-road terrain
- No phone or headphones while riding
- No passengers (strictly one rider)
- No tampering with scooter mechanics or electronics
Rental Policy
- Rental period starts when the scooter leaves the premises
- No refunds once the rental has started
- Late returns will be charged additional fees
- Extensions require prior confirmation
- All visible damage is inspected upon return
Safety First
- Always wear appropriate safety gear (helmet, elbow/knee pads recommended)
- Check brakes, lights, and tyres before riding
- Be visible — use lights at night and wear reflective clothing
- Maintain a safe distance from vehicles and pedestrians
- In case of an accident or emergency, contact Speedbikes immediately
Damage & Liability
The rider is fully responsible for any damage, theft, injury, or traffic fines incurred during the rental period. All visible damage is charged immediately upon return — repair costs, replacement parts, or full replacement value apply.
